Earlier this year I went to London, and while I was there I simply had to geek out a little. I went to Harry Potter Studios outside London, House of MinaLima, Harry Potter: A History of Magic and the Harry Potter department at Primark. All of this mean that I left London with a slimmer wallet and a heavier suitcase.
Last weekend I went on a shopping spree and picked up a ‘few’ things I’ve had my eyes on for a little while. And some things I have not seen before, but could simply not walk past.
Picked up another book about the Fantastic Beast movie. It has behind the scenes and little replicas of props used in the movie. I also bought the badge pack with five badges. Perfect to put on my bag or jacket. For the next film, I will probably wear all five of them.
Next is this Pop-up Gallery. It has five scenes from the wizarding world, both Harry Potter and Newt Scamander is to be found here. You can put one scene up for display like on the left, or you can keep it in your bookshelf and just browse through from time to time.
Last thing is this lunch box. Sadly it is not magical, and your lunch will not magically appear when opened, but it is still cool. It is a little big to put in my backpack every morning, but every now and then, or for a picnic in the sun.
What you guys think of my purchases? Do you have any of those items yourself?
Even on holiday my mind will not take a break from Harry Potter. I spent quite some time in book stores, browsing their Harry Potter display and be frustrated with myself for never learning french. They had things I have never seen here in Norway, and I was tempted to buy a lot of things. Fortunate for my bank balance I only bought one book – namely the philosopher’s stone, but in french.
This book is now my third book in the collection of Harry Potter in foreign languages. Not counting my books in english.
I also went to Primark (as you do if you find yourself in a country where they have Primark), and I search every rack and shelf for Harry Potter clothing, and spent two thirds of my time in the fitting room trying them all on. I had a bit of bad luck as many of the items I wanted were sold out in my size. But at least I got myself a jersey and socks.
